Flourish In Grace: An Introduction

"Let us approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need

// Hebrews 4:16//

"What do you have need for?" To be clear, I'm not speaking in regards to materialistic or tangible needs. I’m speaking to the needs that are more so spiritual, emotional, and mental.

If we take a step back to Hebrews 4:15 it reads, "This High Priest (Jesus the Son of God) understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testing we do, yet he did not sin." God knew that we would never be able to completely walk in righteousness on our own. He knew that there would be needs that we could not meet with our human ability. There are many stories throughout the bible that confirms this truth, and we can see it clearly in the world we’re living in. With eternity in mind, in turn, God put into motion a fail-proof plan, one rooted in grace and love. It would provide access to a personal relationship with Him, correction without the weights of guilt and condemnation //Romans 8:1//, and a path to eternal life //John 14:6//.

God saves us by His grace when we believe. We can never take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece (his workmanship). He sent Jesus to die for us so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago //Ephesians 2:8-10//. His grace and love does not give us the free course to sin or live in accordance to our own agenda. It does not justify any level of disobedience. It functions as a covering under which we can flourish according to God's perfect will for our lives.

The journey may be a bit rough and exhausting. One thing you can rely on, is that God is faithful. I encourage you to take ahold of His love. Approach His throne of grace with confidence so that you may receive mercy and find grace to help you in our time of need. Be willing to love Him with all your heart, soul, strength and mind; I’m confident you will see your life change.
